Although I don't drive 4x4, I still think that is a stupid idea.
If you can afford to drive "big " car, you'll also be able to afford any taxes.
Raising the road taxes won't stop people to buy and drive 4x4 |

Although I do not generally believe in raising taxes just to fill the Treasury Coffers it would be good to see some sort of incentive for not buying these types of motors. They have no real advantage on the average road and have poor consumption and are in some cases a danger to lemming pedestrians. Increase the tax 10 times I'd say , unless you live on a working farm ,when it should be trebled , just coz they're farmers always complaining of having no money. |

No I do not agree with the government i think it is a joke. 4x4 are the way forward and when all the silly people stop going on about how bad they are and just shut up about it all then maybe the government will do the same. Because of all the stupid fukcers go on about it all and protest about it all the time, this is what is causing the problems. Maybe if they all learned how to drive and actually understood what a 4x4 is the government might leave us alone |

yeah, everyone should pay extra for gas gusslers, does not matter if it is 4x4 or not.
Those who need 4x4s like farmers, those living in remote places,other outdoor workers can claim it back in a tax rebate.
Those who are rich will still drive them , but at least the damage to the environment can be off set using the money |

Yes TAX EM, If you wish to drive a big car that doesn't even feel mud on its tyres you should pay extra for the privelage because they do so much damage. So pay up hopefully the extra money raised will go towards my giro |

No, as it is not based on any scientific fact or any reasonable study which proves 4x4 cause more pollution than any other car. On the contrary many 4x4 (Honda CRV) can prove beyond reasonable doubt that they more efficient and environmentally friendly than most of the vehicles on the road. The present taxing system is unfair as it is penalising any one with a bigger eng. regardless of emission and it is really source of income for government who will use the environmental lobbies to put the taxes even higher on every motorist. |
