Recently married, question about her single W2.?
We were married in July, and since then I've claimed her on my income taxes. We plan on filing jointly. Can I include the W2 she had from a job previous to our marriage in the filing?

Yes, both of your incomes for the entire year go on your joint return. You are required to include all of it.

You not only CAN include it, you are required to if you file a joint return.

If you file jointly, then all income that either or you had at any time in the year, including prior to the marriage, MUST be included. This is not optional; you are required to include it. The ONLY way to avoid including it is to file separately.

as long as you marry before dec 31 you are considered married for that entire year for tax purposes, i do believel.
