Recieved the stimulus rebate, BUT did not get it on my dependant son.?
I thought we were suppossed to get an extra $300 for dependants? I have an 18 year old, but he is still in high school. Was I suppossed to recieve the 300 exra credit on him?

Grandpa
the dependent needed to be 17 years old or under as of dec 31 2007 sorry to be able to get the rebate part on your taxes

Lori S
Dependants must be under 17 as of Dec 31,2007 to be eligible for the $300 rebate

It is not for dependants, but for each child that was eligible for the child tax credit. Since he is 18 then he was not elgible for the child tax credit.

No, the extra $300 is only for dependent children UNDER AGE 17, so he's two years too old.

Only dependents who are under 17 on Dec 31, 2007 will get rebate.

If you do not receive full amount of $600 now, then you may get the balance amount when you file your 2008 return, and you become eligible for the tax rebate.

I too did not receive the extra $300 for my dependant daughter who is only 1.5 years old. I filed head of household and my earnings last year were around $15k (I only worked part of the year). I got my stimulus check for only $600. I was expecting $900.

This is for Michelle D.

You probably did receive the $300 for your child. Your payment was likely the minimum $300 rather than the maximum $600. The amount is based on your tax liability.
