Go to the post office and get a form from them, if your planning on scrapping it before the end of the month then get your tax disc to them by the end of February or you will loose Marchs refund |

A tax refund form. I can't remember the number but you can download it. Go to the dvla/directgov websites and check "car tax". |

If you're quick you could get March, April, May, June, July and August back, ie 6 months.
But the key is to ensure that your old disk is surrendered and received during February! So move quickly and consider either Special Delivery for posting it, or take it to a local DVLA office in person. I've been successful with this before, but don't have your vehicle on the road if it's not taxed, keep it taxed until the last moment that it's driven/owned by you - the form you complete includes your statement that they vehicle is being kept off road - SORN.

Best bet would be to ring the dvla visit dvla.gov.uk go to your local DVLA office (if you have one) as you will get your refund straight away or to the Post Office. they usually have most of the forms you need. |
