If you are not paying tax or NIC, then your employer is not obliged to give you a P60. If you need proof of earnings for Tax Credits, ask your employer for a letter confirming your pay for the year.
If you have had a P60 in the past even though you did not pay tax, it could be you were working for a very large employer who just ran everyone through the system for convenience. |

Regardless of how meny hours you work you SHOULD receive a P60 at the end of the financial year - 5th April. If your boss says you don't need one, he/she is probably not paying any tax or national insurance on your job. Contact the Tax Office for your town/area - it will be listed in the Phone Book under 'Customs & Excise' (or words to that effect). |
