Should i use turbotax?
i've never done my own taxes before, i always sent everything to my mom and had her do them. i no longer go to school but i do make student loan payments. and if i do use turbotax, do i just use the free edition, or the deluxe edition that costs 29.95?

It's doubtful that you are going to have alot of interest on your student loans to make it worth writing off. You will probably be better off with just a 1040 EZ form which you can fill out yourself. If you feel you have deductions check out the free edition. The standard deduction is often hard to exceed without alot of other deductions to exceed it. The EZ form is called that for a reason. The Turbo Tax basic should be all you need for $20 ... you wont need the deluxe for your situation but FREE is even better.

Turbo tax is great I've used it for over 10 years. If your state has an income tax get the deluxe if not the basic will be good enough.

Probably going to do standard exemption so yea use the turbo tax basic. I have used it for years.

If you only have a few deductions and w-2's yes you should use turbo tax. If you have someone do it for you, it is expensive and easy to do yourself. Why give someone else the money you worked for. If it becomes more complicated, it is still good to give it a try. You might check into the other program, from h&r (I think) they have free help that you can call with your questions.

Its like 100-250 bucks if you just have it done right with no shadow of doubt by a good accountant. Plus your free of the headache of filling out taxes.
