you are entitled by law to a payslip and and if you do not recieve one the company is breaking the law

Employers are legally obliged to give each employee a written itemised pay statement, usually known as a payslip or wage slip. They must issue it at, or before, the time you pay their employee unless the people being paid are freelances or contractors. The itemised pay statement must show the gross amount of the wages or salary before deductions, the amounts of - and reasons for - any fixed deductions that you make every pay period and any variable deductions that are not the same every pay period ,the net amount of wages or salary payable after deductions, a breakdown of each part-payment - such as part by cheque, part in cash. It doesn't have to include the amount and purpose of every separate fixed deduction every time, but if you don't get a payslip that does this, you must be given a standing statement of fixed deductions at least every 12 months.

yes. you must insist on on ealso I assume you have a contract of employment?

Pleasant Peter Perkins
It is unlawful for them not to give you a payslip. You are entitled to a full breakdown of all elements of your pay and deductions.

If you are not in a union, contact ACAS through their website.

sanny
You should get one at least every month depending on your contract.Talk to your employer about it and if they refuse find out more about it . They could be dodging the tax etc. which is illegal.

it depend on if you are paying tax and your stamp, if you are, then your should have a pay slip in your packet, but if he is paying you cash in hand, then he as not got to give you a pay slip, because it's against the law.

Blink
You should get a payslip every time that you get paid, so that you can keep a decent record for tax purposes. you should ask your employed about why you're not getting these.

hellooo!! can anybody help me?
you should get some sort of notification of your wages in writing.
otherwise they may be paying you off the books.

if you earn £100 or less per week you shouldn't be paying tax/national insurance at all.

if you do earn this threshold then they may have you down on their books as a casual worker so they do not have to produce any specific wage slips.

if they employee other people as well as yourself then they should have a PAYE reference no. which you should ask them for. If you claim tax credits (which you should if you can) they will ask for this no. so you have got a perfect excuse to ask your employer for the PAYE no.

Buddy
Yes you should get one

Cheryl H
Youre supposed to. You have to check that they are paying all your taxes and stuff. You get in trouble if they dont.

Legally, he's probably not required. On the other hand, if you're having tax withheld, how do you know how much is Fed and how much is Soc Sec?

And if tax isn't being withheld, there are even more problems than simply the payslip, for both you and your employer.

So your question was, "Should" he? Yes, he "should" but it's not necessarily required.
