Yes, and then, yes again. Americans are polluting the entire planet with their wasteful driving of SUVs, Hummers, Limos, and other gas-guzzling monstrosities. The higher the tax, the less the compelling desire to drive two blocks to the local store. Take a hike to get your fat-dripping carbohydrates people! Double the tax and spend it on schools. Triple it!
But, alas, it will never happen, because Americans are too damned obsessed with "me" -- to hell anybody else, to hell with the planet. News flash, people, this is the only planet we've got.
Well, Yellowstone is grumbling -- maybe it will solve this problem for us. |

There are just a bunch of whiners who don't know what gasoline taxes are for responding to this question and they don't know what they get for their money.
An increase in gasoline tax is way overdue. I can live with paying an extra half-cent or so per mile in exchange for fixing the messed up roads we have. |

When clinton was in office the gas tax was tripled to repair the highways and yada. The money seemed to evaporate; in the free ice cream capital of the world nothing ever seems to work as promised. That is how we can tell politicans are not telling the truth; their lips are moving. |

Taxes should be applied to where they come from.
Gas taxes should go toward roads, streets and infrastructure. In conjunction with license plate fees.
Semi Trucks do 30+ times the dammage driving down the road than does a car... These trucks should pay 30+ times the amount of gas tax and plate fees. |
