NO !! How else can we get any taxes at all from all the millions of illegal workers? Withholding should be 80% unless you can prove that you are working legally. |

NO.
They're spending 40 billion on these stimulus mailings. |

No, that would cost somewhere around $250 million a month to send out the bills, plus another $300 million to $500 million to process the payments. That's 5 to 10 times what it costs to process payroll tax payments, which your employer either sends by ACH transfer directly to the IRS or deposits at any Federally chartered bank.
The government comes up with enough ways to waste money as it is, but blowing $12 billion or so a year on direct billing by the IRS would be far worse than the so-called "Bridge to Nowhere" up in Alaska, 5 times over. |

That would mean they'd need a very much larger group of employees, to oversee the collections, and many millions of dollars a year to calculate and send out the bills - and the input would still be needed from the employers to know how much each person made to know what to bill them. The current system if FAR superior to that! |

No and I will tell you why........You know that rebate check we're supposed to get soon?! well I just got a notice in the mail telling me about it. I wasn't the only person........Everyone that is getting one got a notice and it COST THE IRS $42 MILLION to send them out..........It would make sense if everyone did online bill pay or if everyone had internet banking but when you are contacting a nation and the cost of simply sending a bill is 1/20th of a billion dollars, you can't do it..........Otherwise it would be a good idea....... |

NO.
For some people used to the way it is already and the fact that we have a choice as to how or how much we get back or pay, I say NO. It would ruin those who are used to the way ait is. It would probly take out more money to do it this way too, cause then the Government could say, We need more to make the time of wating, up. NO, it wont work. I pray they never change it! |
