Why Dem | Should the gifted such as I (110 IQ) pay a lower tax rate due to our other contributions to society? |
|

Since when is a 110 IQ gifted? I think that's at the high end of average..not even above average or superior, much less gifted!
Anyway, I believe that everyone should pay his or her fair share based upon income. The tax laws are as fair as can be, considering all of the politics surrounding the creation and modification of them. |

At 110 IQ you're not gifted. If you were gifted you would know this. |

Absolutely not. First of all, a person's IQ is not directly proportional (nor necessarily related at all) to how much a person contributes to society. The Unabomber, for example, has a very high IQ. Secondly, a person with a high IQ is not necessarily more valuable to society, even if s/he does "contribute" (whatever that means to the individual), as evidenced by the fact that you seriously think this elitist notion is a good idea. IQ does not measure the attributes that are most important for social change, such as compassion, reason, tolerance, and fairmindedness, to name but a few. Furthermore, depending upon the scale used, one's IQ may not mean a whole lot, and even if the scale most widely accepted in the psychology world is used, it measures only one attribute of a person. And intelligence does not necessarily translate into social or economic gain for the city, state, or country in which the intelligent person lives. Thus what argument is there for giving a tax break? The answer is "none." |

um i have the same IQ but I have the same taxes. you see your contributions are not accordind to your iq but your sole and how much you try. i bet you a probably has a higher IQ then a scientist just that person nerver tried. |

If you were really that gifted with a high IQ you should be able to figure out how to manage your assets in order to pay the least amount of tax possible. |

Ridiculous. No. And I have a 130 IQ |

no, smart ppl don't always do good things! take hitler for example. Smart but very creul and evil |

Your median I.Q. has nothing to do with your tax responsibilities. Marylin Vos Savant has the featured question here in Answers, and has the highest I.Q ever recorded. Incidentally, she too pays the tax rate that corresponds to her earnings. FYI, 110 is not gifted, nor is it even close. |

No, from those to whom much is given, then much will be required. |

Gifed would be like a 140 IQ |

No. Whoever makes a lot of money should pay in more taxes and whoever makes a little money should pay only a little tax. If you have a high IQ and all you do is sell ideas for lots of money you should pay tax on all that money. if you give all your ideas away to the public for free you shouldn't pay tax because no money was exchanged. |
|

csucdartgirl
|
Nope. It's based soley on your income level.
Any contributions you would make are not significant. Your IQ has no relation to society's demand on government services.
With a supposed high IQ how could you ask such an inane question? |
|

why should you deserve it? What contributions have u made for being a kid with IQ of 110? fyi, im 129. who cares? |

The average IQ is 128, you're below average. |

maybe, but then you should have to pay more for that attitude of yours |

sure, cause you are smart enough to tie your own shoes, you deserve a break. however, you should know, 10 fewer points and you'd be a carrot. they have olympics games for you. |
