Yes, for the state return it will be, and for the federal everyone has until 4/17 for the filing deadline this year due to a holiday in Washington, DC on 4/16.

wizjp
It's actually the 17th this year.

IR-2007-81, April 9, 2007

WASHINGTON — With the April 17 tax filing deadline close at hand, the IRS offers some tips for those still working on their paper tax forms. Those are:

Consider filing electronically instead of using paper tax forms
Put all required Social Security numbers on the return
Double-check your figures
Sign your form
Attach all required schedules
Send your return or request an extension by the April filing deadline.

Some weird tax holiday in DC causes it

Actually, this year 4/16 is a holiday in Washington, so as long as your return is postmarked by 4/17 you'll be considered as filing on time.

biscuitperifrank
Due to a holiday either in DC or Maryland, taxes are due the 17th this year. Normally if the 15th is a Sunday, the 16th is the due date.

Tom
Due to a discrepency with a possible holiday on April 16, the IRS has moved the filing deadline to April 17.

killer boot
yea, in fact why don't you give it another month!
you've earned it with your tedious researching of putting it off til the last minute so yes you get another month-

tlbs101
That's been the case in the past several decades. I haven't heard anything to the contrary on the news.

too_fresh_fashion
Maybe, but I thought the last day to file them was on the 14th?
