Since this country was founded on no taxes, is there a legal way to get out of paying taxes?

If you make more than the amount of the standard deduction, no, there is no legal way to get out of paying taxes.

You can ignore the movie "Freedom to Fascism", it is full of inaccuracies and out-of-context information.

If you have any questions about common arguments put forth by tax protesters like the late Aaron Russo, Irwin Schiff, Bill Benson and others, go to http://evans-legal.com/dan/tpfaq.html

This country was founded on the premise of "no taxation without proper representation". Meaning, our elected officials are the ones who make rules on taxes.

Short of doing something that will reduce your income to zero. Sorry. Duh.

yes, once you retire on social security no taxes will be taken out

Gary
No there is no legal way to not pay your taxes. Many have tried and failed. But, people can take deductions and credits to lessen their tax burden legally.

The country was founded on the states paying taxes to the federal government based on census (Constitution, Article 1, Section 2). It was subsequently amended so that individuals paid taxes directly to the federal government rather than via the states (16th amendment). Consequently, taxation is legal.

Back to US History class! You flunked, didn't you?? The primary objection of the colonists was NOT "no taxes" but their resistance to taxation without representation.

Think about it. If old King George and Parliament had pulled their collective heads out of their azzes, the US might not even exist today! We'd likely drive on the left side of the road, drink warmish pints of bitter down the pub, pay $7.00 per gallon of "petrol" and pay MUCH more taxes than we do now. We'd sing "God Save the Queen" at rugby, cricket and football (soccer) matches and we'd fly the Union Jack outside of post offices. There would be no World Series (Yay Sox!) or Superbowl. What we know as baseball would be called "rounders" and would ONLY be played by girls.

I kind of like how things worked out, even as much as I do love England.

It wasn't founded on paying no taxes, it was founded on keeping our taxes for our own use.

Since the others have corrected your incorrect premise, I can only respond to the second half of your sentence with a hearty NOPE!

Donate most of your income to charity... that on top of the standard deduction, and voila, no taxes.

When this country was founded, almost everyone farmed for their own food. I guess you could do that too...

Coup D'Etat. Revolution. That's the only way. To topple the current Status Quo and establish your own.

I recommend you watch a film called "Freedom To Fascism" which covers this topic.
