Stimulus Question?!?
When filing our taxes my fiance' claimed head of household and our child as a dependent and me as a dependent (I havent worked at all this year) SOOO my question is how much money will we get?? And we were suppose to get the money direct deposit but still NOTHING.. We filed with H&R block is that why??! And we paid for our taxed with the rebate..
Additional Details
And I am talking about stimulus money NOT my tax money..

He would get $300 - $600 for himself, depending on how much his net federal income tax liability for the year was, plus $300 for the child assuming the child is under age 17.

His tax liability is lines 35 plus 32 if he filed a 1040A or 57 plus 52 if he filed a 1040. If that amount is $300 or less, he'd get $300 for himself. If it's more than $300 he'll get that amount up to a limit of $600. Plus he'll get the extra $300 for the child. There's nothing extra given for you - that's only for children, under age 17.

He'll get a paper check, not direct deposit.

Since you had your tax prep fees withheld from your refund, your fiance will receive a paper check mailed according to the social security number schedule some time after May16. He will receive somewhere between $300 & $600 for himself, provided he had gross income of at least $3,000 and $300 for his son. You will receive no economic stimulus payment.

I want to know what kind of fees is HRB charging where so many people are getting those fees taken out of their return! Geez it only cost $25 at my local tax preparer to file mine e-file.

Derek
go to www.irs.gov to see how much your getting back.

My fiance and I also got our taxes done at H&R Block and had the fees withheld from our return but the return direct deposited. We should have had our checks by now so I called the IRS and they said since we had fees withheld from our return from H&R Block that we would recieve a paper check! I'm pissed! Had nothing but problems with H&R Block..they messed up my return and I just finally got my ammended tax return in the mail yesterday! We won't get our checks until July 4th (mail out date). Sucks. I believe your fiance should get $300-600 depending on his tax liability and $300 for your child. He won't receive anything for you since you have no income and you aren't married. Good luck!

No H&R filed theres by that loan thing and you will get a check, but most likely it will not be the full amount, everyone that I know of that filed with them got a lower amount back than it was suppose to, but you can find out on the irs.gov website under stinulus questions it will say Wheres my Stimulus Payment just click it and put your info in and it will tell you whejn and how much .

Yes, it is the same for turbo tax as well.

sssrstaats
Is this the same for Turbo Tax too then?

DJ
Check other answers for reason people are getting a paper check rather than direct deposit rebate.

It sounds to me like you are getting a paper check.

$1200 return, and you have to get a paper check (H&R Block)

um isnt h&r block supposed to give you an instant rebate?

If you had a tax refund that was recieved in your bank account via direct deposit, you'll receive your stimulus check [$900.00] in your account directly.

However, I believe that H & R Block has refunds sent to a debit card. If that is the case, then you'll have to wait for the paper checks, which are issued based on the last two digits of your fiance's social security number.

Go to IRS.gov.
