Everyone in our family got theirs saturday..we didnt. I was wondering if it was because we e-filed through Turbo-Tax. No one else in the family e-files/direct deposits but us. Thanx for any answers!!

Sorry everyone-I'm sure we're eligible-I did the calculator on the irs site and should get atleast 900.00. We filed pretty early in January so I'd figured we'd get a letter early and our last name starts with B. Or are they using SS#?? |

Rebate letters were issued out on 03/03/2008. I myself have not received a letter and I file with H&R Block. Did some research and found out that if you filed your 2007 taxes and you used direct deposit your check will be deposited based on the last two digits of the social security number. If you filed jointly it will be the person whose name is listed first. 00-20 should be deposited on or about May 2nd, 21-75 May 9th, 76-99 May 16th. Now if you did not use direct deposit then payments will be mailed and it goes 00-09 May 16th, 10-18 May 23rd, 19-25 May 30, 26-38 June 6th, 39-51 June 13th, 52-63 June20, 64-75 June 27th, 76-87 July 4th, 88-99 July 11th. Hopes this helps |

I just got my letter the day before yesterday. They haven't all gone out yet.
The order in which these initial letters go out is of no particular significance and likely has nothing to do with the order in which the rebates will be issued. The IRS has not yet announced the order in which the rebates will be sent. We do not know if it will be alphabetical, by social security number, or some other order. |

Don't worry about it - as long as you filed a 2007 return and are eligible, you'll still get your check. |

Everyone I know got their letter too. Except us. I can't imagine why we haven't. I filed mid January too. Also I efiled through turbo tax as well. I really hope that you and I can get an answer to this question. Thanks for asking it. Good Luck.
I just read that the letters will be sent out in 3 weekly batches. So I think we have some time before we need to really worry!

if you are sure you will get a rebate, this is all you really need to know...
The date your payment is sent will be based on the last two digits of your Social Security number. For those getting direct-deposit payments, the payments will be sent to bank accounts by:
-- 00-20: May 2
-- 21-75: May 9
-- 76-99: May 16
If you will be getting a check, it should be in the mail by:
-- 00-09: May 16
-- 10-18: May 23
-- 19-25: May 30
-- 26-38: June 6
-- 39-51: June 13
-- 52-63: June 20
-- 64-75: June 27
-- 76-87: July 4
-- 88-99: July 11 |

Just be patient. The IRS has to mail out over 100,000,000 of them and that takes TIME. The first letters will go out to the folks that filed early in the season. If you just recently filed it may take several weeks to get your first letter. |

Maybe it ended up in someone else's mailbox and they haven't put it back in the mail yet. Or perhaps because of the way you filed your tax you were on a different mailing list. I wouldn't worry about it for a least a week and then it might be time to check on it. |

Not everyone is eligible for the stimulus package. I know I'm not.

My daughter got hers ,we didn't either.Her last name starts with a G,mine with a N..sooo I figure we will get ours soon.We both filled through H&R Block.
