Stimulus payment games?
according to orlandosentennial.com,those that used turbotax to file their taxes and had the filing fee deducted(such as myself),will not have their payments direct deposited.is this true? instead, they would get a paper check.i figured having the filing fee deducted would be easier for them, otherwise the irs would have to wait until you sent them a check for the filing fee amount in order to proccess your return.which would take longer.

I believe that is correct...The reasoning behind it is that it's not the IRS who's collecting the filing fee. It's Turbo Tax. So, what happened is that Turbo Tax are the ones who sent you the tax refund payment, and the IRS essentially reimbursed them.

Because of that, the IRS doesn't actually have your direct deposit info, since their payment to you went through Turbo Tax's bank.

FYI, the IRS doesn't charge anything for you to file your taxes...it's the companies who have the online systems who are charging you.

Yes, it is true. Go to a real tax professional next time. You'll save a lot more $$$.

When you filed, turbo tax sent to a bank FIRST to have the fees taken out, and they inturn sent you the remainder. So the IRS has turbo tax bank's dd info, not yours. You could have paid fees with a credit card and got the stimulus dd.
I know this information could have come before everyone filed taxes, I know some would have chosen not to have the fees taken out of their return....
Good luck

Just an add.....***I have used H&R block for FREE for 3 years now and not one problem.....got to IRS site, there is a list of companies you can file with for FREE if you meet the age and income limits.....NO FEES!

I e-filed w/Turbo Tax and did not have my processing fees deducted from my refund therefore, they had my personal banking info and sent my rebate direct deposit. However, if you e-filed and had your fees deducted from the refund and the balance was deposited...this involved a 3rd party bank who deducted the fee and then the balance was deposited to your account by the 3rd party. If that is the case, the IRS does not have your personal acct direct deposit info, the 3rd party bank does so your rebate will be mailed according to the schedule on the IRS website. It isn't the fault of Turbo Tax, H&R or ??. I paid my fees with my debit card instead of having them deducted, glad I did at this point, my rebate was DD this AM, as promised by the IRS. The rebate was decided on after I did my taxes, so I didn't know that the rebate would be affected by the way tax filings fees were paid. No one did. No one should be blaming Turbo Tax, IRS or anyone............this is a rebate "like found money" we can all use it, let's just be glad we are getting it at all!

I got that rude awakening this morning when my stimulus check wasn't deposited as well as it should have been. After reading TurboTax's FAQ file about stimulus payments and direct deposit, I found out that those of us who used SBB&T for our processing are screwed. Furthermore, people out there who used H&R Block are most likely in the same pickle because HSBC Bank was involved with them in placing tax refunds on this special "debit card" product that they were pushing as opposed to traditional bank direct deposit. So, guess what people??? If you were looking to save your rears and keep your lights on, your phones on, maybe pay back rent, wait - and maybe get your loved ones some stuff because they, too, have put up with all the governmental BS this past year - and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the Moms that also get screwed this weekend, too. I wanted to give my wife something really special for Mother's Day, and can't.

THANK YOU US GOVERNMENT FOR SCREWING A TON OF PEOPLE THIS TAX SEASON!!!!!

yes that's true, but you could also pay with a debit card or credit card. It's too bad they didn't make that clear. I almost did it that way but i think i had to print a paper and mail it back but i didn't have ink.

join the club anyone dumb enough to use turbo tax or H&R Block deserve the deduction.. common sense, if it looks easy and is easy, there is a catch somewhere.. no sense in complaining about it..
