TAX HELP!! Anyone know about W-2'S?
Ok if you made less than "XX" amount of "$" at a job do you have to file that W-2? My husband had a rough year and he has a few W-2's that are less than a couple hundred dollars. Do we turn those in? Anyone know?

You should still file because he will get all of the amount withheld back as a refund.. it's always best to file anyways regardless of amount, but you and your husband (if filing jointly) won't pay any taxes if you made less than $10,170 last year. Best Wishes.

All the W-2s he receives must be attached to your return.

The filing requirements are based on total income not individual items.

You must include ALL of your income when you file.

you aren't eligible for Earned Income Credit if you don't show any earned income, are you?

and, all wage income is taxable, so all the W-2s have to be added up and the total shown on the line.

If your total income for a year is over a certain amount, you have to file a tax return - regardless of how many jobs you had. I think the threshold is around $3000. When filing a tax return, you must include ALL income from all jobs, regardless of the amount.

Now, if you and your husband made less than $30,000 (? exact number), you may be eligible for Earned Income Credit which could give you a refund even if you didn't have any federal income tax withheld.

Survivors Ready?
If you worked and received a W-2...then yes you have to list it on and attach it to your return. Even tho he only made a couple hundred dollars, the government still counts it as income.

INclude any and all earnings from wages tips and salary on your tax return.

YOU DEFINATELY NEED TO FILE THEM!! The info is already on file at the IRS so if you don't file you are going to get in big time trouble. IT'S CALLED TAX FRAUD! Besides he may get that money back! If your income is low you usually will get most of what you paid back anyway. Don't be stupid.

WooleyBooley again
ALL W-2's have to be with the form you file, all have been reported to the IRS. Doesn't have any bearing on if you get money back or pay money.
