Mine still said "you should receive it by Feb. 3rd" last night. I checked this morning and it says that same thing as you. My bank also processes deposits the same day so I am a bit confused. I'm calling my bank as soon as they open. |

The same thing happened to me. (told me the 23rd but still not in bank) My bank usually deposits the same day as well. I'm not going to worry about since it seems like this has happened to other people. I re-checked the bank info I have them, and my routing number and account number were correct. I figure we will have our refunds today, tomorrow or Friday. |

Same thing is happening to my mother at the moment with the whole Jan. 23 situation. Hoping her refund will be in by the 30th like many others have said the IRS told them.
And YES, the IRS does make deposits on days other than fridays and before Jan. 30. I know because my fiance's tax return was in our bank account this morning by 6:30am and today is a Wednesday and also clearly not the 30th. This was his federal return, not the state (for the sake of someone who had asked).

Well, well, well, looks like the tax refund bandit is at it again! Try this one, 1st stated to receive tax refund 1/23. 2nd time around 2/3. 3rd time (today I might add) states 2/10. How about they just flip a coin and then decide? Oh yes, that's right they could but the coin might not be available until 1/30, but check again tomorrow and the coin could be available 2/3 or even 2/10. Sorry about the tone of sarcasm but this is getting ridiculous!!! |

Yes. I got that message too. Apparently A LOT of people have so far. It's weird. I was told I was going to get my refund on the 30th. I E-Filed with H&R and will be picking the check up there at the office once they get it in their systems to print for me. I think that message was put out in error. Maybe, though, it's a good sign we're going to receive our taxes on time...Fingers crossed! LOL! |

I got that message and have not received my refund yet. I am hoping it comes later this morning. I am at Bank of America like Brett W and hope it gets around to putting mine in also. I will update if I receive anything. |

Going through the same thing. I bank with BofA. I called them, no refund yet. I've been on hold with the IRS for about 20 mins now waiting for someone to pick up. I'm just glad to know this isn't only happening to me because I really started to panic when i saw the message that the direct deposit came in on 1/23.
****Update**** After 46 minutes on hold with the IRS before I finally got through, I realized that they must not have high standards for their seasonal help. The woman I spoke with was completely incompetent. She was not aware of an issue on the IRS website. She gave me the date of 1/30. When I tried to explain to her what the website said, she wouldn't listen to me. I think she assumed I wanted my tax refund early. I explained to her that if it wasn't for the message on the Where's My Refund site, I wouldn't even had been concerned. I tried to explain to her that she needed to let a supervisor know that there is a glitch in the system and that I am not the only one experiencing it, but I don't think it sunk in. Well I've been calling the IRS' toll free telephone number and i'm told that they cannot give me any information. I also got my refund done at an H&R Block. I called yesterday and the lady told me that the IRS would be making all deposits today the 30th. Apparently they're only making direct deposits on Wednesdays and Fridays. But I checked my account online (Wells Fargo) and there has been no depsit made. So Frustrating!!!!! Ugh!!! Please give me an update if you guys hear anything. Thanks! |

Same here.. I e-filed Jan 16, 2009 and checked the status this morning and it says Deposited Jan 23, 2009 and I should get it no later than today Jan 28, 2009.
I checked it again just now..
Now it says it will be deposited Jan 30, 2009, and I should get it no later than Feb 4, 2009..
What's going on with IRS?
I hope their info is going to be right this time!! |

I recieved same message and called my bank, she said that they're not scheduled to recieve any IRS refunds until Friday, Jan 30th. I tried calling the IRS and wasn't successful in talking with anyone :( Hopefully I'll get the money Friday!!! |

Yes, I received these message also. I also received my card today but nothing is loaded on there as of yet. I think I will wait and check my account after 12 am; If I don't receive anything by 10 am, I will give them a call.
Have you received your card? I was thinking maybe that they were waiting for me to receive the card and activate it. |

I just checked and have the same message. I was retarded and tried for a ral which I was denied for, so mine went through sbbt who I assume will hold onto my money until the 30th in order to draw interest on top of other fees they charge. I use chase as my primary bank and I can say its not in there. |

I had the same message that you had and I was worried. I decided to wait until the 30th since that was the original date but this morning I woke up to my tax return direct deposited into my account! So, it looks like people will start getting their refunds today and tomorrow. |

Mine shows the same thing. It has of course not been deposited yet though.
My mom's shows that it was deposited today, January 28th and it also has not been deposited.
For those that said they have had theirs (I know at least one person said their aunt had hers deposited already): are you talking about federal or state? |

I have BoA and this happened to me, too. the BoA clerk says she's recd several other calls about this. Maybe it will be there tomorrow or Friday. |

My status says the same thing this morning and I don't have my refund. With all of us getting the same message I am assuming that this is a glitch. I tried calling the Refund Hot line and it says "due to technical difficulties, we are unable to complete your request". The IRS seems to be having a lot of issues this year. If any of you call the IRS please post what you find out. I have to go to work and can't be on hold for an hour! =-) Good luck! |

Hey all! I received the same message as everyone else this morning about it being deposited on January 23rd. I checked the IRS website "Where's My Refund?" and it now states it will be deposited January 30th and to check back if not received by February 4th. |

My Refund status has said Jan 30th up until today- it now says Feb 10th - I filed with Turbo Tax and have it going thru Santa Barbara Bank and Trust- their website simply says they didn't receive it as scheduled and to check next week -- does anyone else's say this? |

At first the site and the 1800 number both said teh 23rd but now the website is saying they have no info on me, the irs agent said it would be feb. 9th and the 1800 number is now saying jan. 30th so i am not sure which one to believe

Keep checking mine online but it is still saying they have no info :(
***UPDATED***** The irs site is now saying that it will be deposited on Jan 30th 2009 guess we will see won't we.

I got the same message and when I called the refund hotline to see if it was just an internet glitch it said the same thing.I dont know if it went through or not because I had mine loaded onto an endeavor card from taxact.com and havent received the card yet.Hopefully the card will come today and I can check it. |

I called my bank, Fifth Third and they said that they don't even see it sitting in any queues or pending. She said that I was the 5th call she got and everyone she dealt had same issue, so I'm assuming that we need to follow the IRS schdule they posted, I think it said the 30th...and hope we'll start seeing our hard earned money by the 30th(depending on bank). |
