Tax. how do i calculate it?
okay so the price is 23.18 and the tax is 7.5% what is the price after tax.
can you show how you did it.
thanks!!!

7.5% is the same as .075 - multiply the price by .075 to get the tax amount, then add it to the price of the item to get the total you'd pay.

23.18 x .075 Don't forget the points. When you have a percentage move the decimal point 2 spots to the left.

$23.18 x 1.075 = $24.92= price after tax is added.
(Tax is $1.74 rounded off).
7.5% = 0.075.
adding the one (1.00) gives the price after tax is added.
Tax rate (in per cent) times the cost = tax

You multiply 23.18 x 1.075. That will give you to the total with tax.
