We just called the IRS. They said all the people who were suppose to get their money today are getting it on Febuary 9th.
They have no reason at all. But nobody should expect their money today.

The alphabet thing is sketchy; our last name starts with a B and ours didn't show up - we e-filed 1/16 and were accepted on 1/17. In the past the IRS has done things by the last two digits of your SSN - it would have been nice if they had warned us. |

Mine was accepted on 1/17 and I got delayed until 2/10 just like you all have experienced. I finally got a decent answer from someone at the IRS. Her name was Mrs. Gibson, and she explained to me that due to the extremely high volume of returns that were filed and some glitches from the stimulus payment, refunds got delayed. She further explained to me that she believed the IRS was going through them in alphabetical order. I then researched this and found that my neighbors and friends that last names started with B, D, and G, got their refunds. My other friends, along with myself, did not get ours and got delayed until 2/10. Our last names start with L, M, P, and S. I don't know if she is correct or not, but it certainly seems plausible to me. It is crap as I believe they should have gone on accepted date, but it is what it is and we all seem to be at the mercy of the Government(as usual). |

Ya that sounds like the IRS. What exactly is your question?
The IRS website says that if you efile, that it CAN take up to 3 weeks to process. So, it's not like they are out of their time frame.
I would imagine, in this economy, most people are filing early because they need the money. That would definitly explain the hold up.
But like I said, it hasen't been 3 weeks. |
