www.irs.gov

if you qualify, you can use their Free File option!

A little Southern Comfort
www.irs.gove will let you file for free, but you have to qualify first.
Good luck!

There have already been a referral or two for TaxAct, and I'd like to refer them as well.

I have used them for three years now, and they do indeed e-file free.

You do have to live with the fact that there are several 'plugs' for you to pay to upgrade to their fee-service, which has some extra bells and whistles like comparing your taxes and trying harder to find deductions, but their free edition works fine.

It won't file state taxes free, but most state tax returns are simple one you've finished your federal return. Once you have your federal done, go to your local library or post office to pick up state forms, fill it out, and file by mail.

No site that I am aware of does it completely for free....usually the federal tax is free but the state taxes require an additional charge. Try these:

go to IRS.gov and look for the link for efile or free file. As long as you did not make over a certain amount several different companies will allow you to file for free, but you most go through the IRS website. H&R block does it every year, but it generally only for the federal return

Yes to the first answer.

Taxact, but a lot of services at least e-file the Federal Taxes free for you.

Definitely taxact.com! I've used for filing my tax returns and will definitely use it again.
