Tax return supposed to be deposited on 2/15?
My girlfriend filed H&R Block on 1/19. They talked us into getting an emerald card and was told the money would be there as soon as the next day... To make a long story short we are still waiting. She had a refund date of 2/19... Yesterday we checked the status and it told us it would be deposited on 2/15... Now today it is saying this...

We have received your tax return and it is being processed. For more information, please continue.

If you do not receive your refund within the next 4 weeks, call us at the number shown on this page.

Please mention reference number 1221 to the IRS Customer Service Representative.

Well we called with all of her information and gave the extension the website told us to call and the lady assured us the return was still supposed to be deposited tomorrow. I am wondering if this message is coming up now because the irs was so backed up the system is posting messages that were supposed to post weeks ago. a live rep would have the latest info right
Additional Details
I do not think the reference code 1221 has anything to do with her personal information... It is just a code for the irs to determine why her return would be pulled, for example ref code 1221 means...

-Internal Revenue Code 1221 -- Capital asset defined

Which according to the lady she just spoke with again informed her that that these messeges get posted in error due to the fact they are backed up and the resequensing process causes these faulty messages. I looked up this code and it has something to do with property taxes for businesses or something along those lines.

Anyways, she asked the lady if she was being reviewed or if her return was pulled and she said everything was fine and she was already processed and the money is just sitting and waiting to be deposited 2morrow, what a relief. But im not gonna count my eggs before they hatch, I will be happy when our 4000 dollars is deposited.. Hopefully I can get my landlord off my back, get bills paid, get ride fixed

This has happened to thousands of people such as yourself. Many people have posted and said to remove your reference number from your question. These reference numbers are not tied to your IRS refund personal information so there is no problem with you listing these numbers. The numbers are IRS reference numbers. Not personal numbers. The IRS website is not accurate. You should be OK to receive your refund tomorrow. I have a contact at the IRS and he has said the IRS does not have enough employees to process returns quickly. Some get theirs with no problem. Others get delayed a few weeks and receive quirky reference numbers because there return get resequenced in the system. Best wishes. Take care.

I filed with Jackson Hewitt they were there on time but we called the IRS number they had given us early and it said your taxes have been processed and should be deposited in 5-7 business days. I am not sure what your recording means but I would go to H&R Block and raise Holy _______

This was due to a delay in the IRS processing.

I filed my return on 1/18. Several persons that filed during that time (all in one batch) were resequenced into the processing line up and are now expected to be paid on February 15th. - tomorrow.

The live agent you spoke to on the telephone is more accurate than the website.

I spoke with an IRS representative yesterday afternoon via telephone, and also a week ago this time when I noticed my return was materially delayed. They both gave me a consistent response to my query.

I hope this helps

I would suggest taking this post down & removing your reference #, then reposting it. Just a friendly suggetion ♥
edit: I went h&r block as well. didn't want to but went against my better judgement. most expensive 10 mins of my life LOL try visiting the irs website, I don't know if the RAL thingies are goverened by the same laws but there is usually a 'where's my refund' link. just make sure it isn't a phishing site. that being said, do your own taxes from now on, much cheaper, filing federal is free with taxcut (or taxact, one of the two not sure which) & in some states filing state tax info is free but others you need to pay.

I have the same exact message first I got a 2/5 direct deposit date. Then It was delayed to a 2/19 deposit date. Finally I got a direct deposit date of 2/15 with an updated(changed) refund amount. So, Lets just hope it gets posted today. I checked back today and I have the same code(s) and its says if I dont recieve my refund within 4 weeks etc........

I am with you some of us are living paycheck to paycheck and have bills to pay asap!!! everyone needs to keep everyone else informed when they get there refund that would give some of hope that we may actually recieve our refund sooner than later.

There are many possible reasons for the delay: inaccurate information on the return, IRS filing E-filing restrictions and outstanding tax or child support debt being the most common.
Go back to the H&R Block Office and ask to speak with the Office Leader. They have resources to find out the cause.
The Emerald Card is no charge, just a convenient way to get your money faster, once approved by the IRS.
If you originally requested an instant (IRAL) or two day (RAL) refund anticipation loan, the fee is waived if you don't get the money in that time frame. From your description, due to the delay it appears you now have a RAC, which depends upon IRS approval.
You've "Got People" but during the peak rush of tax return filings, you need to be a little more assertive to get the answers to your questions. Next week the H&R Block employees will have a little breathing room and can get the situation resolved to your satisfaction.

H&R block BLOWS. Get tax cut, fill it out yourself, and get it deposited electronically into your checking account.

EDIT: Yes, please remove your reference number, it's not smart to put that on the web buddy.

I think it will probably be in on 2/15 but I would have called H&R because they probably charged her more for the "Emerald card option? If so they should provide some kind of refund on their charges. All refunds are hitting the banks on a Friday- some banks take a few days to post it so I would look for it on Friday.

sushhhhhhh... you whiners!!!... tax season is not over yet so stop whining... wait for it...your girlfriend filed for a tax refund in 1/19 where the congress is still debating on some other tax relief... yesterday 2/13 Pres Bush just signed a bill to give all tax payers an extra money... If you did not receive your tax refund in May 2008 then that is the time to whine about it.... why are you waiting for your girlfriends' tax refund? aren't you supposed to have your own tax refund to worry about? you leach!

Deposits typically always happen on a Friday. An IRS refund check is typically always received on a Monday. This Monday the 18th is a holiday. And why can't you just stop the panic and wait until tomorrow or after midnight tonight to verify the deposit has been made ??

kittyidiotic
And that is why you should always have "people".....at least that is what your friends at H&R block say.... looks like they are liars huh??......
And definantly remove your reference number from your question.....
