Tax stimulus check late?
We filed my boyfriends taxes in Feb and had his refund direct deposited. His last to ssn digits fall between 00-20. Irs website says this about stimulus tax check payments:

Last two SSN digits: Payments will be transmitted no later than:
00 through 20 May 2
21 through 75 May 9
76 through 99 May 16

Well today is the 4th and he still hasn't recieved his check. What should I do? Has this happened to anyone else? Could the IRS have missed him?

He doesn't not owe any taxes or money to the state. He also made enough money to recieve the check. So whats the problem?

Here's why many of us aren't getting our check direct deposited when we thought - IF you did a refund anticipation loan (RAL) or you let someone take the fee out of your refund rather than paying for it up front it will be on the paper check schedule.

Just go to irs. gov/ newsroom and click on 1. Economic Stimulus Payment Information center 2. FAQ 3. Other Questions 4. When and how It's the 3rd to last question.

It says:

Q. I chose direct deposit for my 2007 tax refund but also requested a refund anticipation loan (RAL) from my preparer. How does that affect my stimulus payment?

A. Taxpayers who use RALs or enter into any other loan or financial agreement with their tax professional (like preparation fees being taken out of the refund) cannot receive their stimulus payments by direct deposit and instead will get a paper check.

The only good news is that paper checks are going out a week earlier in most cases than the IRS schedule.

We end in 30 and still nothing, we filed our original irs taxes in Febuary and electronically , also received our refund auto dep.
So this is clearly the government SO TYPICAL when you need something THEY are late , but when they want something YOU gotta be ON TIME OR ELSE!

Simply stupid & ignorant. They should hire more people at thier offices if they are so "behind" NO EXCUSE. *--*that should STIMULATE the economy for our US citizens...give us jobs to get our households IN ORDER....

if you used turbo tax like i did and had your refund dd throught santa barbara bank & trust
(SBBT) your check will be mailed

La Vie Boheme
He should wait.

If his tax prep fee was taken out of his refund, his will be mailed and they are not due to start being mailed May 16th. May 2nd was the schedule..nothing is guaranteed.

My ssn is 00 and we haven't received anything yet. I called the IRS on Friday and they told me that the schedule is only an estimation - not that the website says that anywhere! They said it could take until May 9 to process and then longer depending on how long your bank takes to release it. Good luck! I know the waiting is frustrating.

Getting a bit anxious, arent you?
You are dealing with the government - give them a few weeks.

The dates you show are for direct deposit. If you get your refunds by mail, they will be 2 or 3 weeks later.

woodandy20
I am in the same boat as you. I cannot find any answers on the IRS website.

My number is also within the 00 to 20 and I filed through turbo tax and had it direct deposited...........I have not seen anything yet! :(

Yes, my SSN fell in the first bracket and I still haven't received mine, either. And, when I went to check the status, the IRS told me that they didn't have any info regarding my refund:

https://sa1.www4.irs.gov/irfof/IRServlet?app=IRACTC

I don't know who to contact. I've even called my bank to find out if any deposits are pending... Nothing. Gotta love our federal government.

There's nothing that you can or need to do.

There are many reasons why payments are late. The IRS' workload this year is more than double the normal workload. Hundreds of millions of tax returns to process on top of hundreds of millions of tax rebates to process on top of a major systems re-write due to late action by Congress on the AMT patch.

First off, the published schedule is ONLY an estimate, not a legal obligation of the IRS. Many folks will receive theirs later than as advertised due to the extreme workload at the IRS among dozens of other reasons.

If he paid his fees via deduction from his refund, he's on track to receive a check in the mail. Those won't even START going out until next week at the earliest.

If his was sent via ACH transfer on Friday, the earliest that it can show up in his bank account is Monday. Depending upon how his bank processes ACH deposits it could be Tuesday or Wednesday as well. The IRS has no control over bank processing procedures.

Take a Chill Pill and relax. It will come when it comes, and not a day earlier.
