The Consitution of the United States Prohibits being Taxed multipal times.?
Then how is it that we pay taxes on our incomes, purchases and things we own? Property owners pay taxes on the property they had bought. Then every quarter and every year they are required to pay school and property tax on the property that they own and then have to pay tax again on the sale of the property if they do not purchase new property with that money.
Additional Details
Also. I pay income tax. then I pay sales tax. If I purchase an used car, the original owner already paid a tax on it, I get taxed again for the purchase. (to me thats taxing the same car twice.)

I know that tax upon tax is tyrany and that to pay tax on the same item over and over agin is illegal according to our forefathers. That is why they created a repulic not a democratic government, but if you listen to our current government we are a democratic society, well last time I checked democratic menat that majority ruled. Our fore fathers made us a republic so that not even if 99% wanted to they could not tkae away the rights of even1% of the people. So in answer to your question yes it is illegal technicaly but most people do not even know it or understand it. They all believe that if the govenrment say it is so it must be so. Well lets go back in history. Why did the boston tea party happen? Why did so many people flee europe to get to america in the begining. Why did our fore fathers fight the british? To get out from underneath the tyranical leadership of england and it's obsurd taxes and laws. But guess what, their back and instead of it being a foreign government it's our own. Sorry to break this to you Joe, but there is nothing in the Constitution that says you can't be taxed multiple times. And because the Constitution consciously creates a multi-tiered federal system, you can argue that it implicitly expects multiple taxes. After all, government isn't free. Please don't believe all the garbage that's put out on the internet.

Really!? Where does it say that in The Constitution?? I just finished reading it and can't find any prohibition on being taxed multiple times.

Well, OK, I'm talking about The U S Constitution. Maybe you're talking about a different one. Which one are YOU talking about?

Count your blessings. In Canada, they pay Provincial AND Federal sales tax PLUS income taxes to BOTH. At least we don't have the Federal sales tax on most items. (Exception is for things like fuel and phone service, called "excise" taxes)

No.

R&R
Yes there is double/triple taxing on many things for example goods from say China are taxed when they enter the country in the form of customs and excise duty and import tax and then the consumer pays sales tax on top of the inlflated price. Also multiple authorities tax things eg gas prices include state and federal tax.

I agree, used goods shouldnt have tax on it, although if you make a profit on the sale of used goods eg you sell it for more than you bought it for you should have to pay tax on the profit. (Hard to enforce/detect/regulate though)

Next time you think twice about asking for a raise at work, just remember you need it for the tax man!

I don't think it would matter if it was in the constitution.

If you quote, carry or refer to the constitution you can be labeled a terrorist and put in jail and loose all rights.

It's even in the police training manuals of some states. I have seen others reference the same - but here is one I could find on short notice in the reference section below.
