HATE!

Sam
A necessary evil. Look at it this way, if the government didn't get their money from income taxes, then they'd get it from us another way. Ironically, it's rather like all those people who voted for minimum wage increases, then bitched about the price increases. Who did they think was going to pay for all those raises?

Both. Love the fact that the government is able to provide social services for people using tax revenue (and I don't mind paying taxes for those purposes). Hate the fact that there is so much mismanagement of government funds, and that the current administration's priorities on spending are out of whack. Also hate the current tax code--far too many loopholes and complexities.

As long as you are doing what you need to be doing as far as filing your taxes and turning in the proper paperwork without any fibs on it you should have no reason at all to hate the IRS.

First Lady
They are a necessary evil.

If you're getting money back, Love them. If you have to pay, hate them.

Z
hate them. they are an unnecessary evil. there is a new tax plan in congress called the fair tax. in the fair tax you no longer pay income taxes and other such taxes, but instead pay an increased sales tax. this way all income is taxed including under the table jobs, like drug dealing. with this plan you will be able to save more of your own money, because they don't tax it then give it to you. alos, you will end up saving more money because it's all dependent on what you spend. not to mention you get a refund up to the poverty line. rich people will pay more than middle class and so on.
