The top of my paycheck says "Single"?
How do I get it to say married?....since I have been married for 3 years. Do I contact my employer or do i fill out some federal tax form or something?
When you fill out your W4 form with your employer, you need to mark the "married" box...it is box number 3 after your name and address. Just ask your payroll dept to fill out a new one for this year, and you can change it as soon as possible!

It doesn't really matter, but you can fix it by filing a new W-4 with your employer that says "married" or "married, but withhold at higher single rate".
golferwhoworks
it probably refers to your exemptions for tax deductions only. Fill out a new W4 and turn it into your pay master

Contact your employer and they will change your deduction amount so you will not owe taxes when you file. If this isn't current, you might not be withholding enough to cover your tax liability for the year.

Contact your employer to change your tax classification from SINGLE to MARRIED.
Ms Berry Picker
talk to your employer to let them know it's wrong. they might also need to see a marriage certificate.

I WAS JUST GO AND CONFRONT YOUR CONTACT EMPLOYER BECAUSE N T WAYZ Y WOULD U BE WORRIED IF U KNOW UR MARRIED THEN SO WAT

You need to complete a new W4 form showing this classification. If you choose to go with the 'married but at a single higher rate', it will still show 'single' and still be based on the single rate scale.
