Turbo Tax users dont get direct deposited stimulus checks!?
I just learned that if a tax payer used say...turbo tax and had the filing fees taken out of their refund...then the refund was given to the "other" bank then refunded to the tax payer....they get a paper check...mailed out...(stimulus).

finally spoke with someone at the irs that seemed like they new what i was talking about and I was told that the irs will not have my bank info. they will only have the info for the account at sbb&T.that bank has the actual direct deposit info for your actual account. That really sucks and I bet a lot of peple wouldn't have used tt had they known they wouldn't get their rebate direct dep. The account that was open for you at sbb&t was only temp and is closed. So, Paper check it is.:) sorry

-----If you had your refund sent by check, your stimulus refund will be sent by check.
-----If you had your refund direct deposited to your account, your refund will be direct deposited.
-----If you had your refund direct deposited in your account but your TurboTax fees were deducted from the refund by SBB&T, your refund will be sent by check.
-----If you had a balance due, your refund will be sent by check.
Most people will receive their rebates the same way they choose to receive refunds on their tax returns -- by direct deposit into their bank or other accounts, or by check in the mail.

If you haven't filed a return yet and you qualify for a rebate, you can select either method when you file.

Under certain circumstances, however, the IRS has decided that taxpayers can only get their rebates by mail, even if they get their refunds by direct deposit. At TurboTax, this will happen if you use a "refund transfer" when filing your 2007 return. This service lets you pay for your tax preparation and/or e-filing from your refund proceeds, for an additional fee, under an agreement with Santa Barbara Bank & Trust .

Where did you get that info??? The IRS has no way of knowing what you paid to have taxes done if anything! They simply get the 1040, or whatever form you used! Bad info sorrry!

You are correct. The transaction that allowed Turbo Tax or any other tax prep type bank to receive your tax refund was a one transaction account that closed the instant that your refund was "re-deposited" to your bank. You no longer have an active account for the IRS to transfer your rebate to at Turbos Tax's bank.

Thats what I thought too. And then when I was examining my tax return, I realized the the irs tax return has MY bank information on bottom. Thats all they are looking at is your tax return. and at the bottom if it has your bank info then why would they transfer it to another bank first right?

Correct, if you had your refund sent through TT's bank so they could take out your fees, then you did NOT have direct deposit of your refund into your own account, and your stimulus payment will come as a paper check in the mail.

Very confused..... I used Turbo tax, had fees withdrawn,

My tax form has MY bank account numbers on it.

Why would this not go into my account if the IRS has MY account numbers on 1040 line 74. It was not Santa Barbara that was listed here it was MY account numbers.

HELP!!!!!!!!!

I used TT and I paid for my TT fees with my Debit Card, so I looked at my 1040 and noticed that my bank information was on it then i checked my refund on my statement from Feb and the refund was deposited my Treasury Dept IRS....NOT Santa Barbara. So with that info I am getting it DD this week. I hope this helps.

Wow!...I'm glad i didn't use Turbo Tax.
