I have been using Turbo Tax for 15 years and love it. It is very easy and user friendly, whether this is your first time or you have been doing taxes for years.
I have never used another software on the same year's taxes, so I can't say that it will get you more money. But all software SHOULD be using the same tax tables/formulas, therefore if you enter all information exactly the same, any software SHOULD produce very close to the same result. |

It works very well indeed. It walks you through your return, step by step asking key questions that can help increase your deductions. I highly recommend this to anyone who isn't familiar with tax laws.
I work for a tax prep business part time, and I use it for my own taxes. Simply because it catches all mistakes, shows you all the credits you qualify for and you can e-file and have your money back in less than 10 days.
You can use any of the turbo tax editions. It depends on what you own, dependants and how much you make in a year.
If you don't own a home and don't have dependants, use the basic version. It'll run you about $14.95, plust state return fees.
If you do own a home and have dependants, but aren't very familiar with other dedutions/credits or tax laws, use the deluxe deduction maximizer edition. It'll find everything you qualify for. This edition will run you about $29.95, plus state return fees.
There are promotional codes out there on the web to be found. Try google...you can get these editions at 25-30% off the original price. |
