They should be out anytime now.
As for Crispy, I work and so does my wife, but we aren't earning much so Tax Credits top up our earnings. Ignorance is bliss! |

Now, or so they should be, but you know how slow they are.
Crispy my friend, explain how my cousin is a scrounger. She is a single mum who works as much as she possibly can as well as looking after her 15 month old son. With out Tax Credits she would be living in poverty. Get a grip, and maybe do a little research before putting your ignorant opinion across. |

Normally it"s the beginning of April
But I'm still waiting
To crispy people that get tax credits are entitled its not scrounging |

I've not had mine yet.
To Crispy the £40 a month mentioned was taken off the married man's tax allowance and given back as cash. You can still get that much if you have a joint income of up to £50,000. |

Hi, I used to work for the Inland Revenue Tax Credits in Cardiff. As the Tax Year ends on April 6th it will take about a month to dispatch all of the renewals. It won't take long if you have any problems phone the Preston Inland Revenue thats where they dispatch the letters. People who are self employed send there renewals back by September.
As for you Mr Crispy to cocky for your own good I've got three words for you "YOUR A TWAT" |

How dare you make judgements about anyone Crispy, this just show your level of intelligence. Tax credits are paid to working families as well as people claiming benefits, and even if this lady was on benefits all that says to me is that she is dedicated to her children & doesnt want to unload them to someone else, It is disgusting that mothers are forced out to work these days when they could be using their time to bring up their children. Dont get me wrong i admire the effort to go back to work, just ignore ignorant people such as crispy, if he has any children i pity them. |

Hi there, I haven't bothered to read the answers that are hidden because of the low rating......... not even going to waste my time with such morons......
Funny though, this question, cos I've just had a letter from Tax Credits this morning!
It isn't a form and it doesn't ask for any details, all it says is that from 6th April the amount of time you have to let them know about changes has been reduced........ so basically they are trying to make sure that they are either paying enough out, or not over paying anyone.
As the new tax year started early this month, I would expect them to start sending forms and asking questions sooner rather than later... but as others have said, they aren't always that quick about things.
Remember that when you do tell them about how many hours and how much you get paid, it's better to over estimate rather than be on the pessimistic side. Why....
OK so they might pay you a little less each week
but
at least when it comes to the new tax year - you won't have to pay them back!
I've done that myself..... colleagues have told me that we have had some clients (I've had one) in the past who have ended up with large bills because they were receiving too much when circumstances had changed.
You don't have to base the calculations on previous earnings, though it is usually a good indicator, you can tell them how much you are expecting to earn this coming year.
For me I would much sooner by underpaid and them owe me some money than the other way around. After all, how many people will have saved some back, just in case they got too much?
The following links might be helpful:
https://www.taxcredits.inlandrevenue.gov.uk/HomeNew.aspx
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/menus/credits.htm
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/BenefitsTaxCreditsAndOtherSupport/TaxCredits/DG_4015483
Also worth bearing in mind that if anything changes during the year, you can phone them and let them know, they can then change the calculations.
Hope this helps. |

I got mine a couple of weeks ago. But this is the government were talking about there not very quick at these things. If your worried give them a call should be on your letter from last year or check on the website.
As for people like Cripsy, they are so quick to jump to the conclusion that anyone who gets benefits are sroungers. Exactly what does he do to earn a living?
I'm like yourself out working all day running a house, my husband works and we have a 20mth old son who we have to send to a childminder. We get tax credits to top up our earning which helps to pay bills to enable us to provide for our son. |

you don`t need to wait for the renewal form , i phoned them with my husbands march pay slip and told them his gross for 2006-07 and my claim was sorted in 4 days !

I've asked Tax Credits the same question - they are sending them out between now and August. They award you the same Tax Credits as last year whilst you are waiting for the Review Form to come through. You can apparently phone your figures through, which was a new one to me. Hope this helps and hope the info in correct. :-)
Ps. Fat person- it's not scrounging, it's only for working people, and the forms are sent through regardless of whether you've asked for them or not.
PPS. No need to wait for P60 - last wage slip will have earnings to date. My last wage slip was 30/3. |

I'm pretty sure it's different for everybody. I think that it's a yr from the date you got your first payment, then yrly after that. Crispy you're so ignorant! Many people who claim tax credits are working, they're just claiming what they're entitled to. If you were in the same situation, no doubt you'd claim it too. Or would you say " no thank you very much. Keep your money oh kind government, because I have a proper job!". |

Tax Credit renewels are sent from the 6th of April until the end of June, your entiltement will be the circumstances on when it will be sent. If you recieve full ctc only these will be on the mailing list first, then those who recieve wtc and ctc and then to those who recieve ctc family only (£547.50 and less).
If you recieve the ctc family only you will not be sent a form but a letter asking to confirm your circumstances.
But if you recieve more than the basic element you will be sent a form to fill in but you can ring the helpline with your details and therefore will not have fill in the form as your details will be directly inouted into the NTC system. |

Anytime now I think - they tend to send them out in alphabetical order, and we are Hughes, had it about two weeks ago. |

They sent out the stuff late last year with a rough idea of how much you would get and to contact them if your circumstances have changed. No you are definatly not a scrounger everyone is entitled to the money so go and get it |

If you have a very recent pay slip phone tax credit and give them details that should do but I stay in Glasgow and don't have mine yet. And you or anyone who gets credits are not scroungers, we are getting what we are entitled to, I am a single person working full time and get a measly £3.00 per week, and WOULD be better off unemployed. |

There's no point phoning them until you get your P60 from your employer as that has all the information on it they need. You can be sent the form anytime between now and August I think but once you have your P60 you can do it over the phone. That's the way I do it. |
