UK govt takes 44% of our nation's income. What happens next|?
I fear that such a large tax take will destabilise my nation and cause some form of rebellion. Which I don't want. Or maybe I do? Additional Details I am being serious, for a change. I am afraid.
Yes, just look at the rebellions fomenting in France, Germany, Italy, and Sweden, which have far higher tax rates.

What happens next is that the great British public bend over and let the government screw us all properly.

Dude, you need to come to America. The UK is a welfare state and that's why your tax is so much higher than ours. It's not causing a rebellion in your country, but I read an article which said an estimated 40% of the British population are leaving or planning on leaving the country in the near future because high taxes are affecting their quality of life. The main destinations are the US, France, Spain and Australia. If 40% do leave, that will seriously damage the economy and destabalise the nation. But it's your government's own fault and they have to fix it.

Move to America!

??? Why? They take it off each cheque and allow you to claw some of it back in the form of a refund.
Be happy that you don't live in Sweeden, which I understand, technically has a 75% tax burden.
Mind you, they also have cradle to grave Health Care that is rumoured to be among the best in the world...

But you are so luck, you have free medical, great public transportation and all that other stuff that somebody out there needs so their life will be equal to the middle class.
