Call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 if you want to find out the exact amount you owe. They will take whatever amount you owe out of your 2006 federal tax refund. Because that takes some time to do, it will delay your refund a week or so as well. At least you'll have it taken care of though.

I would check the IRS website and find out who your local contact person is. They should be able to look this information up for you and tell you how to handle it.

You can call the IRS (hold time on the phone may not be as long now compared to 2-12 weeks from now) and get the amount you owe plus the interest and penalities, or you may file 2006 return and wait for the IRS to contact you? Did you file your taxes last year??? I hope you didn't forget to do that also. LOL. Don't be surprised at the interest and penalities, that is the best way for the IRS to get taxpayers to file and pay when they should. Good Luck.

Go ahead with your regular tax filing. I would call the IRS customer service # & let them know. Even if it's a small amount they will garnish your wages for it.

When you file this year they will take your refund if you owe them money. but I do believe you can still file-for last year to, go to tax person, they are trained to take care of this stuff. The IRS don't forget so its best to face the music and take care of it.

if you have a refund comming to you this year, they will deduct it from that.

Did you file your return?

Don't you have a copy?

If no to both, prepare them and send the money you know you owe. Then wait for them to contact you with fines and penalties.

Every day you delay you increase the amount of money this will cost you.

Do it now!
