mmiceli212@sbcglobal... | WHY DOSENT THE GOVERNMENT GIVE THE AVERAGE TAX PAYER A 25,000.00 DOLLAR REFUND TO PAY OFF THEIR BILLS ? |
INSTEAD OF MAKING THE RICH RICHER |

I don't think the government has an extra $2.500.000.000.000 around in this treasury to do that (estimate, give or take a trillion or so).
The rich are rich because they know how to make money, and have that as a priority (rather than, say, spend money).
So, giving every "average" taxpayer 25K WILL make the rich richer, as soon as the "average" taxpayer spends it. |

because the average tax payer doesn't put that much in. |

If large companies will continue to fail, many people will be out of jobs. $25,000 wouldn't keep them afloat for long. I do think the government could consider forgiving some debt however, such as studen loans. |

That isn't the capitalist way. |

There's really no rhyme or reason as to what is going on right now. Basically dirty business practices to make the rich richer have finally come back to haunt them but sadly its effecting everyone else around them.
Best bet would be to forgive certain debts. Things like Student Loans and even some Mortgages. It wouldn't be an end all/be all solution but it would certainly be a start. |

I agree! The working class are the biggest part of America, but good old Uncle Sam just sends them off to war and then gives tax breaks to big business! TIME FOR A NEW POLICY!! |

We were thinking more like $250,000 to help save the sub prime market, keep US manufaturing jobs, tourist travel destinations, gas, groceries, healthcare, etc...
A quarter of million would be cool with me! :D |

Because some of us don't have nearly that much debt because we made intelligent decisions. And before you judge I'm 25 and own a house and a car, I don't make a lot but I'm very frugal- a lesson I wish more people had learned.
Why bail out stupid people who probably will just be stupid again and re-screw up the economy? Bailing out institutions will allow them to extend more credit to people and let them screw up their own lives again... this time the financial industry won't buy their loans, they'll let them self-destruct and won't take the financial sector down with them. Agencies have learned their lessons. I work for a mortgage lender and I can assure you, with a fair amount of certainty, that many borrowers have NOT learned a lesson out of this mess yet. |
