Found in response to another question on this site! You can add wages for the week. I've found it a good guide, but not totally accurate - you will also need your tax code.
Good luck with the job. Hope this helps. |

Hi, if this is your only job, you should not pay any tax at all, because we all have a tax allowance that we can earn before we have to pay tax, you may have to pay tax at "emergency" rate, but you will probably have it refunded to you at a later date. |

14 x £5.52 = £77.28. You can earn £100 pw before tax, so you won't be liable to tax.
Make sure you sign a P46 (assuming you don't have a P45), available from your employer
EDIT: If you also work full time, you would pay basic rate tax (22%), assuming your other salary is under about £30k. You will not pay NIC on the second job. |

You haven`t stated whether this is your only job or you are claiming benefits, if you are on benefits this will have to be declared, if it`s your only job and you haven`t worked this tax year [starting from 1st April] then you won`t pay tax. If it`s your 2nd job then you will have to pay 22% tax on all your wage |

You will have to pay 22% tax on your weekend job which would be £17 leaving you with only £60.28 take home pay or £4.30 per hour. Maybe you could come to an agreement with your weekend boss to not put you through the books and give you cash and therefore not deduct any tax. |

The question is quite vague but if this is your only job then you shouldnt be paying any tax or national insurance at all.
The tax threshold is £5,225 per year (amount you can earn without paying any tax) which equates to £100.48 a week. You will earn below this threshold (14 x £5.52 = £77.28) so your tax should be nil. With national isurance you need to earn over £100 a week also so this should also be nil.
It is possible that your employer is taxing you at basic rate tax which is 22% on all earnings. If this is the case ask your employer for form P46 for you to fill in and this should sort it out.
Hope this helps. |

non you shouldn't really have to pay tax on that amount of income if you do have to pay tax its around 20% |

It depends. Is this your only work?
If so:
About the first £5000 of your income is free of income tax. If you are in regular employment, this is divided into the periods of time you get paid so, its about £100 per week.
Also you don't pay national Insurance if you earn less than £84 per week.
£5.52 per hour for 14 hours a week is £77, which is below the threshold for both, so unless you have another job you shouldn't be paying tax on this.
Unfortunately as you aren't paying National Insurance, it won't count toward your state pension. |
