THINGS I DIDN'T KNOW UNTIL I SAW THEM ON THE INTERNET:
Nobody ever really landed on the moon - it was a giant hoax. What you saw on TV was filmed in Utah.
Elvis is still alive, and performing marriage ceremonies in Las Vegas.
It is unconstitutional for the government to tax your wages (income tax), and most of what we think of as income isn't really income anyway.
Excuse me now....I just won 2 million pounds in the online UK lottery when my email was randomly selected, and I have to go answer the email.....

Sigh. Another one who swallowed the KoolAid. Try reading the Sixteenth Amendment to the Constitution. After that, try NOT paying income taxes and see what happens to you. The federal courts have repeatedly held that the US income tax system is legal and on solid grounds. Those court decisions have the same effect as law. |

Joe Bannister advises people not to pay their income tax but actually pays his.
The case involved a client of Bannister's named Al Thompson. Joe convinced Al to stop paying income taxes and to stop withholding taxes from his employees. Thompson was charged with tax evasion and fraud and Bannister was charged with conspiracy. Thompson was found guilty and Bannister was acquitted.
What is the moral of the story? Giving bad advice (Bannister) is not illegal but following bad advice (Thompson) is.
Here is the law by the way:

Please forward the $10k ASAP. |

The constitution allows for taxation.
All these references are BS.
Try it and see. Just ask one of the many that have tried to get out paying taxes what happens. Oh wait, you can't, they are in Federal Prison.
Richard Hatch (first winner of Survivor) tried it, result: he owes more in penalties and fines than he earned AND he was sentenced to 10 years in Federal prison.
Sorry buddy you cannot beat the government and the tax man cometh.
But hey, believe some whack job on youtube and you too will be getting 3 squares a day at one of our tax payer paid facilities. |

The law is Title 26 of the US Code. Here's a link: http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/26/
You owe me, hotshot. (My attorney WILL be in touch if the funds are not forthcoming in 72 hours.)
FYI, Ron Paul has NEVER stated that the Income Tax is illegal. He's a mis-directed proponent of the Fair Tax and uses it for his personal political goals. But he's NEVER claimed that the Income Tax isn't properly ensconced in law.
And as far as "Joe Bozo" is concerned, any blowhard can SAY they don't pay taxes. That doesn't make it so, however. I know a couple of meatheads that make that assertion. They're both W-2 wage earners who refuse to file tax returns. The IRS has never been in touch with them. What they fail to realize or accept is that the IRS already knows that they have refunds coming but can't pay them until they file. Combined, they've lost tens of thousands in refunds over the years by my professional reckoning. But they DO get to claim, "I never file tax returns and the IRS leaves me alone!" Stupid is as stupid does. Do yourself a favor -- don't be stupid!
What truly shocks me is that there are fools who swallow that tripe -- and raw no less! A few have dodged the bullet on criminal prosecution but they ALL pay the Tax Man in the end. The TRULY stupid thing is that by the time they pay the taxes, penalties, and various fines (such as the $25,000 one for raising a spurious defense) they wind up paying as much as 10 times what the original bill would have been had they paid on time. That, my friend, is truly the definition of STOOPID!
One last tidbit. After "Joe Bozo" successfully dodged the criminal bullet, the law was changed making it illegal to charge money for advice that proposed illegal evasion of taxes. He now has to give away that garbage. A classic example of value for money -- in this case you pay nothing and get advice that is worth exactly that! Zip! |

Joesph R. Banister was acquitted but two of his clients went to jail. Mr. Banister a CPA has been disbarred from practicing before the IRS as of June 25, 2004. Sources of taxable income are identified in Title 26 under section 61 "Gross Income Defined". |

Are you asking a question? Or are you trying to convince others your fruitcake views are right?
There is a law concerning income taxes and it is codified in Title 26 U.S.C. http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/uscode26/usc_sup_01_26.html
§ 1, § 61, § 62, § 63, § 3402, and § 6011 are the sections that apply to most people.
Congress has always had the power to lay and collect taxes. Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution states, in part, "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes,..."
The only limitation on that power comes from Article 1, Section 9 which says that "direct" taxes must be apportioned among the states. Most people assume income taxes are direct taxes, but income taxes are INDIRECT in a Constitutional sense. However, even if income taxes are considered direct taxes, the 16th amendment removes the apportionment requirement. http://www.senate.gov/civics/constitution_item/constitution.htm
The 16th amendment was properly ratified, no matter what anybody says. The ratification of the amendment was never challenged until Bill Benson wrote his book in the late 1970s (I may have that date wrong). He claims he researched it for over a year. It took me all of five minutes to find he misinterpreted the Tennessee Constitution as it was written in 1909. His other arguments are also specious and without merit. It doesn't matter anyway, the 16th amendment is currently a part of the Constitution and it will take another amendment to repeal it.
Also, why don't you ask Ed and Elaine Brown, Bill Benson, Irwin Schiff, Walter Thompson, Robert Clarkson, Gaylon Harrell, Larken Rose, Eduardo Rivera and many others about how successful they were in not paying their taxes.
I recommend that you look at every argument put forth by Joe Banister and compare them to the verifiable responses at http://evans-legal.com/dan/tpfaq.html
BTW, I'll give you $20,000 if you can prove all of the following statements are false.
1. There is a law concerning income taxes.
2. The Pope is catholic.
3. You are an idiot.
You can't win, because all three are true. |

I kinda think the truth to the answer will shock you.
BTW - you're not the first person to ask this question. In fact I think you might be number 625,124.
Other answers will direct you to the Constitution and the 16th Amendment. Take their advice and look them up.
The 16th says income no matter what the source. That includes income from trading time for money in a job.
Also look up all the court cases that have dealt with income taxes being illegal. The court system, which is in place to make sure laws are interpreted and applied correctly, has found time and time again that taxes are constitutional. |

You are the first protestor today from the fruitcake fringe. You are full or arguments that have a decades long 100% failure rate in court. Take a large dose of mental laxatives and try again. |
