Possibly. It depends on your status in the UK.
To get Child Benefit you'll normally need to:
have the 'right to reside' in the UK - this is different to the right to live in the UK
be physically present in the UK - together with your child
be 'ordinarily resident' in the UK - so your main home is here
be responsible for the child who's living with you
see this link to get definitions of each of these terms http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/childbenefit/arrivals-to-uk.htm
In terms of the Child Trust Fund this is paid to newborns in the UK. Your Kids won't qualify, but I think you may have been thinking of Child tax credits which are a different thing. if you qualify for Child benefit you may qualify for Tax Credits also but this depends on your level of income. You can work it out at http://www.taxcredits.inlandrevenue.gov.uk/HomeNew.aspx |

l cannot believe this. You and your partner are leaving a beautiful hot climate to come to England, in the hope of our country supporting your children? This is so WRONG. Despite government denials, a recession is now in effect, and our benefit system, will be fully stretched, supporting those who have made genuine contributions to the "system". You, and your family are entitled to nothing, as you are not even European! l could go on, but the mention of the word "kids" within the question, raises doubts to me as to the validility of this! |

You can claim child tax only if you pay national insurance. With regard to child benefit I think you have to be an EU national to claim. The best thing to do is contact the Government office in the area you intend to move to and they can advise you on your 'rights'. |

I'm with one of your other responses - I hope not. As a foreign resident you have not paid into the social system so why should you take out. Have no doubt your three kids will expect free schooling - how do you hope to contribute to that? I guess you expect the taxpayer here to pick up the tab! |

You shouldn't no, as one has to pay into it before taking anything out. |

In our 'come all, take all' society you will no doubt only have to present your foreign self to the authorities (most of which in certain parts are run by foreigners) to avail yourself of our generous (hard fought for) benefits and freebies.
You can expect
Social Housing (ahead of native brits)
Free money for all your kids
Free healthcare
Free schooling
Free services
You wont get the trust fund (how the hell does a foreigner know about these things?) as this is for people born here.

You have to be a resident of the EU before you qualify, you need visas to work in the UK and for the first 2 years you pay higher tax than UK residents and get no free health service until you have paid and applied for residency after 2 years but need to sit exams to enable you to stay in the UK and for the trust fund you only get after the birth of a baby born in the uk. Have you looked into the economy of the uk? unemployment is high, housing bad, crime rate high, rent high and food and petrol high, the minimum wage is £5.52 per hour, which is the price of a packet of cigarettes and we pay 20% of our earnings on tax but you will pay higher than this for 2 years, is it worth coming to UK. |
