If you pay it after the due date, you are charged a penalty. Sorry.

If you are in California (where the first installment of property taxes was due December 10), a 10% penalty will be mandatory. You will have until April 10, when the second installment is due, to pay both with no additional penalty. After April 10 a 10% penalty plus extra redemption penalties apply.

Go to the office, and pay a penalty but ask for an extention, they might be able to give one for another date, if you do not have the whole lump sump.

Be there Monday morning and pay this bill!! It takes no time for the country to auction off property for non payment of taxes .... Even after you pay the taxes - check back and make sure the payment has been recorded.
