Federal Income taxes are used to pay for many things. Mostly for the cost of running the country. The primary things are:
Interstate Highways, Federal employee salaries, Social Programs like Well Fair, College Grants for students, national security, etc. It does not pay for state and city expenses. That is handled by sales tax, property taxes and state income tax. |

All of the above are incorrect. Federal taxes pay to ruin the federal goverment, such as the congress, senate, SSA, fedrally funded programs and things such as that. Local and state taxes do the same at local and state goverments, while roads are kept up through gasoline taxes. |
