Go to www.irs.gov and use their stimulus payment calculator.

If you file single and you made under $75,000 you will get up to $600 and $300 for each child. If you filed joint you will get up to $1,200 and $300 for each child. If you made over $75,000 then they start to take 5% per each dollar, so that equals 5 cents to every dollar. So if you made $12,000 or more over $75,000 which equals $87,000 you will get nothing back.

You should get any where between $300 to $600 if you filed your 2007 tax return, your mimimum qualifying income is $3,000, you are not dependent, you are not non-resident.

For more information on the eligibility and how much rebate you will get read: http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/02/are-you-eligible.html

If your net federal income tax for 2007 was over $300, then you'll get that amount up to a maximum of $600. If the tax is under $300, then you'll get $300 assuming you are eligible.

The only way you can truly calculate this is to calculate your tax liability. You will want to contact the IRS to ask them what your tax liability is and what bracket it falls within.

The way this works is you calculate how much you paid the government before credits. Do not calculate this by thinking that if you got money back then you don't get anything -- this is not true. Take what you actually *paid* the government minus any nonrefundable credit.

On top of that, you get an additional $300 for any qualifying child.

If you make any more than $75,000 (or $150,000 if filing jointly), your stimulus package will be less.

You may get $1,200 all together if you file jointly and both you and your spouse have a tax liability of more than zero.

The tax rebate is based on your 2007 earnings and Federal Income Tax liability.

You would be eligible to receive a rebate of up to $600 if you paid that much in Federal Income Tax. If you only paid $350 in taxes (less than the $600 rebate limit), you only get back $350. If you had earned income or social security of at least $3000, you would get at least the minimum rebate of $300. Similarly, couples filing jointly can receive up to $1200. If you qualify for a rebate, you will receive $300 for each dependent child under 17.

Use the Kiplinger rebate tax calculator (link below) to compute your rebate.

First, if you are claimed as a dependent, you will receive no rebate. If you are not, how much Federal Income Tax did you pay?

If you paid under $300, you will get a rebate of $300.

If you paid over $300, but less than $600, you will get a rebate of what you paid.

If you paid $600 or more, you will get a $600 rebate.

I believe that it is $300, if you are married it will be $600 ($300 each) and I think that it is $200 additional for each child.

How much earned income credit would I receive if I made $12,000?
