What do Social Security Disability recipients need to file to receive their tax rebates?
Is there any special form that needs to be filed to receive the tax rebates? I am inquiring for a person I know on Social Security disability who hasn't filed in the last two years and may be entitled to this tax rebate. Any information or direction would be appreciated.
Additional Details
I meant to say the rebate check.

Call the IRS. They have an 800 number. You can get it from 800 information: 1-800-555-1212, and ask for the IRS. They have people available about 18 hours a day to answer questions exactly like yours. May as well get your advice from the horse's mouth.

You need to file a 2007 Federal Income Tax Return, even though it may not be required. Here is the IRS link to the sample Form 1040A to help the filing:

Yes, SSD income is eligible income for stimulus tax rebate. You will file Form 1040A. For information on filing 1040A:

A 1040A will do it. See irs.gov and click on "rebate questions" for more info.

I am, I said
You must file a form 1040, nothing else.

I make 9432 a year on disability I just want to know if I am entitled to a rebate check also, before I became disabled I worked 2 jobs and paid my taxes, and now I can't work anymore even though I would love to. thank you Vera brannon

I was wondering the same thing. I am 27 and am on disability for a bad heart and wondered if i would get a rebate. I was told that a disabled person might wanna just get a 1040 form and declare how much they made on disability last year and then sign it and mail it it and then wait and see.

If they are on ssi disability they will not qualify. It has to be social security disability. If they receive a 1099 SSA they qualify.

From what i've read, you must file a tax return this year to receive a rebate check.
