What do you think about the proposed tax rebate?

I think they should be smarter about the tax rebates they give out. I remember back during the era of Reaganomics, I thought it sounded like a good idea. You give tax breaks to the rich, and they then have more money to invest in business, and produce jobs.

Unfortunately, the rich were not told the full details apparently because the used all of their money on cocaine and other foreign imports which didn't help the American economy at all.

I think they should tie the tax cuts directly to high wage jobs with full insurance benefits. For every Job you create at 125% of minimum wage with full holiday, vacation and insurance benifits you get back 75% of that investment.

Just thinking about it makes my pee pee tingle

I heard it was $1700 for each person in the household. I have me, my wife, and my wife's mother. Since I pay my wife's mother a salary of $12/month for doing the dishes, we have three tax payers in our household. So that means we'll be getting $5300 total!!! Woohooo! I just went and got a new Harly today. Put it on credit card. Should be able to pay off about a quarter of it thanks to this tax refund!

Its is a shot in the arm for the economy, but its only a quick fix.. time for congress to go to work and stop trying to wait it out to the election... They all make me sick

I doubt it will actually go through, but if it does, gas prices will go up because oil companies are run by greedy jerkwads who will want us to spend our entire rebate on a tank of gas...

I would welcome it into my checkbook, with loving arms.

Ridiculous when we have a debt and huge deficit.

I sure would like to see it, but does anyone know when we may receive it?

Chencia
I hope it's as good as it sounds at least for a short while.

Should boost the economy for a while, and maybe convince the Dems to make permanent the last tax cuts.

Fuzzy Zoeller
I don't really know if it will help the economy, but it sounds like it will help me for a couple weeks, so I'll take it too.

I think it is great! I am kind of late on my mortgage payment so this will help. I am not too worried since the government is freezing interest rates so I won't have to worry about paying it off for at least a year! I am going shopping to do my part to help the economy!

I'll take it.

It would be good if the treasury didn't have to borrow to give it to everyone, at sometime it has to be payed back. Also just as when the minimum wage increased gas jumped up about 50 cents. Look for the same thing to happen.Bush just got back from Saudi Arabia and they probably told him they need more money.Truthfully it will just cause more inflation. The Bush Chaney team are oil people and everything centers around oil.
