Too many Daily Mail answers here honey. It should make little or no difference to you. It's balanced by the cut in the standard rate from 22p to 20p. Some of the jerks who answer on here are SO negative |

According to the BBC news report, people earning under £19,340 (or maybe £19,540) will be worse off under the scrapping of the 10p tax. |

It doesn't make any difference tax-wise whether or not you have kids apart from the fact you can't claim child credits.
You will be better off. You will save ££29.90 tax, and £28.60 NIC. This year you will pay £2513.00 tax and £1379.40 NIC, assuming your salary is constant. Last year, it would have been tax of £2542.90 tax, and £1408.00. If your monthly salary varied, tax would be the same, but NIC would differ.

Try reading the info in this article. It's quite comprehensive. From what I can gather I think the abolition of the 10p tax band means it shouldn't affect you. (I got it wrong before - sorry!).

I heard 18k is arround the tipping point so I think it will basically be balenced by the cut in the basic rate of income tax. |
