You may get away with it for a while but its not worth the risk as you may go to jail & that would be just awful or it may be a massive fine & they take your house & everything you own
pay up if you are smart you will sleep better as well |

They will hound the hell out of you, garnish wages, force you to sell your house, put you in jail, you name it. Even if you owe them $250,000 and you pay half (because they tell you that it will be sufficent and that is all you will owe) ... they will not honor their word (even if it is in writing). Believe me on this. It happened to my father about 1982 when I was about 18. Just pay your taxes and you won't need to worry about this. There is no way out of it. |

A long time...but watch out when they do. The State of CA got my ex after 15 years! Of course they were going to put a lein on the house and the IRS would seize assests. |

It's not worth it.....eventually they'll catch up with you.....could be 6 months, could be 10 years, but when they do, you'll be paying a lot more and doing some time. |

Only the rich get away with it, not really get away with it, but are able to fend them off, the rest of us little guys get stuck paying enormous fines, penalties, interest compounded daily, weekly, monthly, yearly! until the 300$ you owed becomes 3000. in 6 months time! You are doomed! And the penalties will not stop growing untill it's paid, which is really criminal! You will never pay it off even if you can pay $100. per mo. on it and most little guys cannot. That will only cover the fine not the interest and penalty. The IRS robs the working class always has! You never have enough out of pocket expenditure to write anything off, or you are just $13. shy of enough. The government knows exactly what the average family of 4 makes and how much they spend for Doctors, housing etc. and they make sure that the amount possible to write off is just over what you spend, so that you cannot benefit with a deduction. So you make out all the categories going long form, hoping to get something back, and you find out; that you gave them every bit of personal information on you and your family and will get back maybe $20. at most, more than if you had gone with a "short form" put in the salary and took the assigned right off!! Sickening! And eye opening. |

Very few get away with it. I work in payroll and you don't know how many people I have had to set up garnishments on their paycheck. When the IRS takes your money they take your bank account, put tax liens on your property, and take over half your wages. Don't go there. |

Assuming you are in the USA, you might be able to get away with it for a while, but at any time the IRS could seize your assets and throw you in jail. I don't know about other countries. |

it may take a little time but our ever effiicient government will catch up with those that have not paid their taxes or filed tax returns. Prison is what will happen for a good while I expect. |

It depends on where you live.
In Canada, they will send you a letter one month after your last chance. After that they will start charging you interests, and if you don't pay for about a year, they will send you a court warning. After the second warning you will get the guys knocking at your door. If you are lucky, you may pass through system for a couple of years before the guys go to your place. That's more or less how it work here. |

They don't look into your case unless you are ripping off the government by $300 or more. So your safe if you're on an extremely low wage. Otherwise you may get away with it, at the same time risking fines and jail time. Not good to have on your record |

If its you can't pay They can confiscate anything you own and sell it to pay the taxes. This includes your house, your car, your wages, your bank accounts etc.
If its you just won't pay, they can throw you a-- in jail.
Nobody but street urchins beats the tax man in the long run. |
