What if my previous employer doesn't send me my W-2?
So, In late January of last year I quit my job. It ended on a bad note with my employer, whom I worked for in her house. She took out taxes and everything. What do I do if she doesn't send me my W-2? Its Feb 1st, and I don't have any way of contacting them as I was told that they moved. Help?!
Additional Details
Maybe this wasn't clear int he first part. THEY moved. I can not contect them because they moved!! I have no idea where they are or how to get ahold of them.

If by Feb. 15th you are unable to contact the company and receive your W-2 you are able to file a substitute W-2 form with the IRS and file electronically. There will be a phone number to the IRS with the Sub W-2 to contact the IRS and let them know you did all you could to obtain the W-2. Then the Sub W-2 can be created by information from your last pay check stub.

Remember this form is not available until Feb. 15th.

You need to contact them and have them issue you a W-2. Legally they have to send you one if you made one cent in 2008 from them.

First, try to contact her. Call, e-mail, and/or send a certified letter.

If that doesn't work, you can file use your own records to create a substitute W-2. Use Form 4852 (Substitute W-2). Use the best income and withholding information you have. You will have to describe the efforts you have made to contact your employer. You'll also have to explain how you came up with the numbers you're using.

I know what you mean.

Contact the IRS, explain the situation to them.

You were to give her a change of address.
You were also supposed to give the post office a change of address.

It's not the employer's fault if you move and don't tell them where you are--you still have to report the income.

Contact her.
