A rebate is when you get back tax that you have paid throught your salary any one can qualify
if from april to april you earn less than the personal allowance or if you have been on the wrong tax code e.g BR (basic rate) then you may be entitles to a tax rebate
at present most peoples personal allowance is £6035 (tax code 603L) so if you get paid monthly say £1500, £502 of this will be non-taxable so they will only tax you on the £998, if by the end of the year you have not earned over £6035 (for example if you only work for 3 months of that year and earn £4500 for the year) you can claim the tax back that you paid for those 3 months of work
this is just an example, hope it helps |

A rebate is an amount paid by way of reduction, return, or refund on what has already been paid or contributed.
Everyone Can Qualify For It. |

If you made less than the amount where tax cuts in, AND you had anything withheld for that tax, then you get the withheld amount refunded. |

To qualify you must have 'earned income' or social security benefits.
Earned income is income earned by being an employee or by being self employed. All other income such as interest, dividends, rent, capital gains, do not qualify you for a rebate. |

You need to give more information. Rebate on Federal taxes or State Taxes? Everyone who filed Federal Income Tax Returns for 2007
has been considered for the rebate. Check the Fed site irs.gov |

A rebate, in this context, is money that Congress (not Bush, contrary to popular opinion) decided to have the IRS send to some, but not all, of the U.S. population.
Anyone who filed 2007 tax return, could not be claimed as a dependent by anyone else, AND had at least a certain amount of qualifying income qualified. The rebates are sent automatically to all such persons; there is no need to submit a separate "claim" for the rebate after filing the return.
If you earn less than the personal allowance, you probably do not have enough qualifying income. However, if you have enough other qualifying income (in addition to what you earn), you might qualify. |

No, you can only claim a rebate if you have overpaid tax. If you haven't paid any, you can't get a rebate.
You may be able to get working tax credits if you are low-paid. |
