What is another word for accountant?
What is another word for accountant, other than bookkeeper or CPA?
Additional Details
Something less cartoony that some of those. We need more that a bookkeeper, which brings us clerical people, but less than an accountant, who is much too technical.

I am thinking financial analyst of financial specialist.

how 'bout financial adviser, financial consultant or money manager, finance manager, account finance clerk, financier clerk?

bostonianinmo
An accountant is an accountant, pure and simple. A CPA is an accountant with special additional training and State certification. All CPAs are accountants, but not all accountants are CPAs.

A bookkeeper is a bookkeeper. Some accountants are probably employed as bookkeepers, but you don't need to be an accountant to work as a bookkeeper.

A financial analyst or financial specialist may or may not be an accountant, and may have more or less knowledge than an accountant. It's more a job title than anything else. There are financial analyst positions that require an MBA and CPA and there are others that a 2nd year accounting student could handle.

Clark Kent
If you need someone with accounting knowledge but don't need a CPA, you might refer to them as a full-charge bookkeeper. This would tend to preclude applicants whose only ability was to keep an accounts receivable ledger or prepare payroll checks.
I have a client that hires a "bookkeeper" to prepare the payroll, pay the bills and pay sales tax. I prepare the monthly financial statements and the tax reports.
