taxing your income.

Which the founding fathers specifically said NOT to. But the govn't amended the Constitution to 'allow' this. Which I think was rammed thru, with improper or not enough signatures from the state representatives in Congress.

At the time of President Lincoln, the Supreme Court struck down an "income tax" as being un-Constitutional.

Taxes were limited to imports, properties, etc. Income (what you earn) was off-limits for the money-grubbing hands of a tyrannical govn't.
