Currently when you have a baby, you are given an extra allowance in your tax credits (I think for us it is about £10 a week), this extra amount stops once the baby is 1 year old. It's not just your first born it is any baby that you have. You will still get tax credits for a newborn baby but you won't get anymore than what you would if the child was 2 or 3 years old say. |
