Harmonized Sales Tax.
Prior to July 1st, you were charged GST and PST. Now it's HST. The total tax is the same.
Some items (like donuts) which were exempt from PST before, will now be charged HST, so the price will go up. But on the vast majority (over 85%) of purchases, the cost will stay the same. |
