What is the maximum prison sentance for tax evasion in the UK???
As above.

Steve B
Inland Revenue will do ANYTHING to get the money out of you instead.

Sending you to Prison is the LAST thing they want to do .. they would rather you agreed to pay off your back Tax's at £1 a week for 100 years than drag you into the Courts ...

Tax evasion is pretty common in the UK.....e.g. almost every landlord in the UK doesnt pay any taxes on income for renting out to students.

In my oprinion, taxes in the UK are pretty low, so there is no need to evade taxes.

The longest sentences are reserved for professionals who defraud HMRC, such as accountants, IFAs, solicitors etc.

I think the longest sentence given in the last ten years was a life sentence, but bear in mind this is a UK life sentence, which could be only 4 years..
