they are not required to give you any hours being part time try asking a supervisor for more hours or see if you can get someones hours that's not coming in to work |

There is no minimum. If you aren't getting enough hours, you need to look for another job. Look for one that's full-time - that's what most people need if they're trying to live on their pay. |

if you're a part-time employee, they don't have to give you any hours and will bring you in when needed. if you're not getting enough hours, you're probably not important to the company or might be doing a bad job and they can't find anyone better.
the problem at my last job though, was that there were just too many people working there because the dumb manager thought more customers would come in.
you need to find a 2nd part-time job or get some kind of training to find a good full-time job. |

If you're so desperate to survive (what's with the dramatic nonsense?), why are you working part-time instead of full-time?
An employer is not required to give you any hours if they don't want to or they don't need to, as others have said. You're free to seek out another job or an actual full-time job. Seems to me that if you're looking to "survive" you need to get a better job and make it full-time versus part-time. |

As far as I know you can only work a total of 40 hours a week and if you work longer then you are supposed to be paid for overtime. |

The most an employer is alowed to give you is up to 40.. a week.. and beyond this u get your hourly pay + half of the hourly pay called bonus time.. it also depends on your age..
during school your alowed 25 hours a week...
