It really depends on your overall financial position. Since you've posted the question, you probably are pretty average (ie, not incredibly rich and financially savvy). You most likely have some debt outstanding. People will suggest that you invest, but it would be much better to put it toward a 7% car loan than put it in a 4% CD.
Of course, depending on how much it is, it may be best to go spend it on something fun for yourself. We got $3600 back: spent $400 on some shopping and a night out, put $1000 in a CD, and used the rest to pay off a loan.

Put it in an IRA. You will get a tax deduction for 2006 and you will be saving money for your retirement. The longer the money sits in the account the more interest it will draw.

Put it in the bank and make sure that you never give the government another interest-free loan. They can spend whatever they want with no accountability. Make sure you never overpay taxes.
